How is the Panda/farmer updated impact affiliates?

On 24 Feb have you noticed a serious dip in traffic to your affiliate sites? Then you are not alone, Google rolled out a new algorithm update to improve the relevance of search results by reducing "Content farms" or "low quality websites."

However, the change had a catastrophic impact on a large number of sites (including affiliates) all over the world. I have personally seen some of my sites Google traffic plummet ~ 40% but an increase in the others to see.

See what we first know based on speculation on the limited data that we have seen, have Matt Cutts & Vanessa Fox give some details, but is the best summary Google looking what the quality in this SMX summarymuch

There are a number of things, the still for me this update does not:

Why made were not many of the most important content farms actually? eHow is an excellent example here.If "low quality content" treated you on your website Google your entire site as low quality. You would have thought Google quality based on page can tell.I have a number of shopping sites met bad look, like other such has BizRate remain unaffected.

I am very reluctant, change say something immediately as Googlebot always still seems very slow new cache dates on pages reflect, it is possible only on condition that Google are tweaking this algo for another re-ranking soon. This means that you have two options:

Wait, it-there is a chance that the algo will be less aggressive & you will be back to your original position.

Or you can start now to the next level of the algorithm anticipate opportunities.

Google will remove low quality of the content of your site, but we have no idea what looks like lower quality in the eyes of Google. I made some changes to websites beginning including (but not limited to):

Noindex add to thin pages (day think pages, empty pages etc. Review) Establishment of canonical or double issues (www/non-www) attachment to all reported problems in webmaster ToolsRe review any content sources that you are using that other (uniqueness think) will use can if you think, you have wrongly targeted I would a further check RequestImprove the content ad ratio on file your PagesReduce use of boilerplate over several PagesEnsure, that the main content of your pages are greater than the sum of the header & FooterGive Google-feedback on the Panda in the thread Google Webmaster

I am interested to know, that if you had (especially affiliate Web sites) have hit:
