Amazon threatens to terminate affiliates of CA due to pending California Nexus tax invoices

Unfortunately, it seems that enormous state of California could be the next in line for the tax legislation of anti-affiliate Nexus. Will be very sad for thousands of affiliates California if these bills. And it seems that these bills are likely to spend and go to the law in force in the next 2 days.

Last updated: 6/29 PM 10 bad news! California pass affiliate Nexus tax
through Performance Marketing Association

I wish California would understand that they are not helping the economy of the State, but it hurt! Any fiscal gain, they think that they will do, will be offset by the economic losses due to the small and large companies affiliate, losing income (and therefore pay less income tax), with the staff of layoff (putting more strain on the resources of the State) or moving of California so that they can continue their business in several friendly States.

Yesterday, the PMA made the announcement of apprehension:

Alert: CA to immediately implement nexus tax - effective

Brown, Governor of California announced that it has received enough votes to pass its budget, including the tax affiliate link and link invoices related 2: 153 AB, AB 155 and SB 234. The law will be effective upon signature, but must sign before 1 July 2011

We make all our possible for this block to go forward, but we believe passage is imminent. If you are a publisher based in California, or an outdoor advertiser, please ask immediately inform of a tax or legal professionals.

How is the Panda/farmer updated impact affiliates?

On 24 Feb have you noticed a serious dip in traffic to your affiliate sites? Then you are not alone, Google rolled out a new algorithm update to improve the relevance of search results by reducing "Content farms" or "low quality websites."

However, the change had a catastrophic impact on a large number of sites (including affiliates) all over the world. I have personally seen some of my sites Google traffic plummet ~ 40% but an increase in the others to see.

See what we first know based on speculation on the limited data that we have seen, have Matt Cutts & Vanessa Fox give some details, but is the best summary Google looking what the quality in this SMX summarymuch

There are a number of things, the still for me this update does not:

Why made were not many of the most important content farms actually? eHow is an excellent example here.If "low quality content" treated you on your website Google your entire site as low quality. You would have thought Google quality based on page can tell.I have a number of shopping sites met bad look, like other such has BizRate remain unaffected.

I am very reluctant, change say something immediately as Googlebot always still seems very slow new cache dates on pages reflect, it is possible only on condition that Google are tweaking this algo for another re-ranking soon. This means that you have two options:

Wait, it-there is a chance that the algo will be less aggressive & you will be back to your original position.

Or you can start now to the next level of the algorithm anticipate opportunities.

Google will remove low quality of the content of your site, but we have no idea what looks like lower quality in the eyes of Google. I made some changes to websites beginning including (but not limited to):

Noindex add to thin pages (day think pages, empty pages etc. Review) Establishment of canonical or double issues (www/non-www) attachment to all reported problems in webmaster ToolsRe review any content sources that you are using that other (uniqueness think) will use can if you think, you have wrongly targeted I would a further check RequestImprove the content ad ratio on file your PagesReduce use of boilerplate over several PagesEnsure, that the main content of your pages are greater than the sum of the header & FooterGive Google-feedback on the Panda in the thread Google Webmaster

I am interested to know, that if you had (especially affiliate Web sites) have hit:

Coupon affiliates steal from you

Apparently, visits to an online retail site of a voucher/coupon code Web site is now in the UK 1 out of every 200 . As this type of traffic year after year, your hard earned affiliate commissions could get emptied down the drain, if your cookie is overridden by these practices of rogue.

Many of the large gift certificate have an incredibly sneaky way websites, your override hard earned cookies (there are out legit there, to do things by the book, but I'm not naming names here).

Show Discount & Save

So in order to even view the discount you click first need, button, to reveal codes, opened this a popunder is a new cookie, override sell. Now is where it starts to get very, very sneaky. If you have a large database driven website easily it is creating pages to any trader / website known to man, who has an affiliate program (regardless of whether they coupon codes or not), some sites have to manually do others can do it quickly. You then start optimize the pages for "merchant name coupons, discount codes and coupons."So there's now a typical scenario: you send a customer the dealer of your affiliate RedirectCustomer is a nice shiny laptop & decide BuyThey to checkout & find a "coupon code box" you see the dealer has their eyebrows, ever so slightly increase and enter "traders coupon codes" in GoogleUp POPs one of the voucher code sites with a beautiful shiny button similar to, that AboveBut…. low & Behold there is no coupon codes. The coupon site has but yet your cookie overwrite.

This is, what pisses me off most, people are willing to buy, ready to commit. Still have you you sell at the last minute (seemingly without any effort) stolen.

One of Britain's great coupon sites last year reported that they more than $ sent gross annual sales in the value of sales through dealers. With this kind of volume, the networks are zugedrückt an eye & these sites with stealing your commissions to get away.

This seems very different, but here is a couple of thoughts (I would like to know you also):

n What do you think the role is the affiliate? There is this four solutions I can think of: I look very carefully before promoting some traders now when they have a coupon discount have a field is a big red flag for me.Ban of the concerned partner of NetworksDisable override the affiliate CookiesCredit of the affiliate that sends the consumer on the buy side before the affiliate providing the coupon.

What solutions do you see to combat this growing problem?

Affiliates - to do this, every day more why you should not leave

Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11: 11 by Linda Buquet

Our friends and customers to ShareResults thread have this great content that we want to share whenever we can. Here are 2 of their last messages of marketing affiliate.

New affiliates: Make Sure to do this at least 30 Minutes a day

By entering into the world of affiliate marketing, it may be difficult to stay abreast of new information in the industry. This is why the setting up of a reader and putting aside the 30 minutes to one hour every day to read the contents can help. You have to become more familiar with affiliate marketing and learning new information which should be to help your business. RSS readers are ideal if your time is already abundant.

Why you should not quit Affiliate Marketing

As an affiliate and a subsidiary of starting marketing small business are a big thing. Even in this economy? Yes, absolutely. You do not have to go the road of small companies only, because there are many online resources to guide you towards a successful future and full of super affiliates who have walked this path before you. Although there are always going to be conflicting (and frightening) reports on unemployment rates, one thing is certain, affiliated marketing can only grow in popularity.

Affiliates: the update of content Google firm will kill Article Marketing?

As you've no doubt heard by now to update the contents of the farm of Google has made havoc with a lot of sites. Many of them are sites marketing article and article directories that are popular with affiliate marketers.

According to a study conducted by Sistrix and posted at search engine land, of, here are some of the largest sites of article lost rankings after the update. EzineArticles.com, ArticleBase.com, FindArticles.com, LovetoKnow.com, AssociatedContent.com. Related sites to publish your content to boost SEO who obtained dented include Squidoo.com, Hubpages.com, Mahalo, Buzzle and some Q & A sites.

If later Google will move article kill marketing? I don't know because I have a crystal ball and never focused on the section of marketing myself. However below are a few good articles of some very smart people like Ros Gardner, who knows well the EC market and some opinions.

The death of Bum Marketing

Why is Bum Marketing dead?

Most recent Google algorithm change, farmer, death spells for sites Bum Marketing in the same way as crappy, useless Adsense sites were targeted in the algorithm changes past.

Article markets still in force after the update of the farmer from Google?

"As you all probably heard it today, Google last updated farmer put a damper large enough section of marketing, as he abandoned the classification of keyword for sites like EzineArticles, associated content."HubPages and other go to article networks now regarded as strong content. »

EzineArticles aims to obtain rankings back, following the Google algorithm update

"Whereas we categorically reject any person who places the label"Content farm"on EzineArticles.com, we were not immune from this algorithm change," said Knight. "Traffic was down 11.5% Thursday and more than 35% on Friday." In our lives to date, this is the single most significant reduction in market trust, that we have the experience of Google.

An attempt to return to the good graces of Google, EzineArticles reduced the number of presentations article accepted by more than 10% - articles "are not enough unique." It will not accept more presentations by a Wordpress Plugin section. They are reducing the number of ads per page. They raise you the number of words minimum section 400. They are "raising the bar" on the limits of the density of the keyword. They remove you considered "thin and spammy" articles, and put more emphasis on the rejection of the advertorial articles. »
